They said,
"talk to Tia."

You may be here because someone you trust encouraged you to talk with me.
Here's why.

When I begin a workshop or a coaching session, before we dive into the work, I ask people to tell me about their name.
What it means.
Where it comes from.
The story it carries.

Because names hold power.
They hold the shape of who we are, sometimes even more than we realize.
They hold memory. Meaning. Family. Identity.
And sometimes, a name fits even more deeply than you expected.

This is what this page is about.
Who I am, starting with my name.
My approach to what I do.
And, why you’ve been encouraged to talk with me.

My name is Tia.

In Spanish and Portuguese, Tia means Auntie.
Which has always been true of my energy. I’m the one people come to.

Who they trust with their hidden truths, fears, and dreams.
Because Aunties bring the kind of listening that makes it safe to be sincere… and to experience growth.

My “B.” is for Brown, a family name.
And Coachman… that’s a name I chose.
Not just in marriage, but also in meaning.
It speaks to what I’ve always done, before I had a title for it.
To coach. To guide. To carry people through a moment.
It fits.

Tia then

Team Builder. Executive. Founder. Speaker. Coach. Space-Holder. Sense-Maker.

But more than anything, I am a person.
A person who leads through change, challenge, and conflict like most leaders do.
And, I lead from who I am and help leaders do the same.

My practice doesn’t come from theory alone.
It comes from sitting with what’s hard.
It comes from noticing what leaders need and rarely receive.
It comes from listening. To others and to myself.

What I offer is space.
‍Space to pause.
Space to surface what we too often bury just to make the days lighter.
Space to reflect and respond to our experience of leaderhood.

This gives you the power to choose how you want to lead.

My work serves individuals and groups who are navigating leadership.
Not just how to do it, but how to be in it.

We are all affected by expectations.
This usually results in leading like someone else. Doing what we think we’re supposed to do… what we “should” do. Wanting to live up to high expectations.

I help leaders reconnect with the part of themselves that day-to-day leadership doesn’t often give space for. Together, we unpack the challenges they’re facing and find the most aligned way forward.

My practice is steady and spacious.
I listen deeply. Bringing presence, reflection, and genuine support.
